This branch was a major cleanup and rototill of many of the various OEA cpu based PPC ports that focused on sharing as much code as possible between the various ports to eliminate near-identical copies of files in every tree. Additionally there is a new PIC system that unifies the interface to interrupt code for all different OEA ppc arches. The work for this branch was done by a variety of people, too long to list here. TODO: bebox still needs work to complete the transition to -renovation. ofppc still needs a bunch of work, which I will be looking at. ev64260 still needs to be renovated amigappc was not attempted. NOTES: pmppc was removed as an arch, and moved to a evbppc target. @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.67.26.2 2007/10/03 19:22:52 garbled Exp $ d9 1 a9 1 # NetBSD: GENERIC.in,v 1.67 2007/07/16 06:26:54 he Exp $ d26 1 @ 1.70.20.1 log @sync with head. @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.70 2007/10/17 19:53:46 garbled Exp $ @ 1.70.26.1 log @Sync with HEAD. @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.71 2008/07/31 07:48:37 simonb Exp $ d9 1 a9 1 # NetBSD: GENERIC.in,v 1.73 2008/07/31 07:47:43 simonb Exp $ a25 1 options WAPBL # File system journaling support - Experimental @ 1.70.26.2 log @Update haad-dm branch to haad-dm-base2. @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.75 2008/11/15 21:22:03 abs Exp $ d9 1 a9 1 # NetBSD: GENERIC.in,v 1.76 2008/11/15 21:21:23 abs Exp $ a16 4 options M68040 # support for 040 options M68060 # support for 060 options FPSP # 68040 Floatingpoint support options M060SP # MC68060 software support (Required for 060) d23 1 d44 1 a44 1 options ST_POOL_SIZE=24 # smallest that allows TT-HIGH @ 1.70.16.1 log @Sync with HEAD. @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD$ d9 1 a9 1 # NetBSD: GENERIC.in,v 1.73 2008/07/31 07:47:43 simonb Exp $ a25 1 options WAPBL # File system journaling support - Experimental @ 1.70.16.2 log @Sync with HEAD. @ text @d9 1 a9 1 # NetBSD: GENERIC.in,v 1.76 2008/11/15 21:21:23 abs Exp $ a16 4 options M68040 # support for 040 options M68060 # support for 060 options FPSP # 68040 Floatingpoint support options M060SP # MC68060 software support (Required for 060) d23 1 d44 1 a44 1 options ST_POOL_SIZE=24 # smallest that allows TT-HIGH @ 1.70.22.1 log @Sync with wrstuden-revivesa-base-2. @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.70 2007/10/17 19:53:46 garbled Exp $ d9 1 a9 1 # NetBSD: GENERIC.in,v 1.73 2008/07/31 07:47:43 simonb Exp $ a25 1 options WAPBL # File system journaling support - Experimental @ 1.69 log @Regenerate configurations after adding COMPAT_40 to GENERIC.in. @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: makeconf,v 1.6 2001/11/20 11:26:10 lukem Exp $ @ 1.69.10.1 log @sync with HEAD @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.70 2007/10/17 19:53:46 garbled Exp $ @ 1.68 log @regen @ text @d9 1 a9 1 # NetBSD: GENERIC.in,v 1.66 2007/06/06 08:20:26 martin Exp $ d38 1 @ 1.67 log @regen (added stf). @ text @d9 1 a9 1 # NetBSD: GENERIC.in,v 1.61 2006/03/28 20:58:39 pavel Exp $ a10 1 a11 1 a12 1 a13 1 a37 1 a42 1 a44 1 a46 1 a50 1 a52 1 a55 1 a57 1 d61 1 a61 1 grfbus0 at mainbus0 # bitmapped display's' a64 1 a70 1 a73 1 a74 1 a75 1 @ 1.67.28.1 log @Sync w/ NetBSD-4-RC_1 @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.67.12.1 2007/06/06 19:26:27 bouyer Exp $ d9 1 a9 1 # NetBSD: GENERIC.in,v 1.65.2.1 2007/06/06 19:21:52 bouyer Exp $ d11 1 d13 1 d15 1 d17 1 d42 1 d48 1 d51 1 d54 1 d59 1 d62 1 d66 1 d69 1 d73 1 a73 1 grfbus0 at mainbus0 # bitmapped display's d77 1 d84 1 d88 1 d90 1 d92 1 @ 1.67.20.1 log @Sync with head. @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.68 2007/06/06 08:21:08 martin Exp $ d9 1 a9 1 # NetBSD: GENERIC.in,v 1.66 2007/06/06 08:20:26 martin Exp $ d11 1 d13 1 d15 1 d17 1 d42 1 d48 1 d51 1 d54 1 d59 1 d62 1 d66 1 d69 1 d73 1 a73 1 grfbus0 at mainbus0 # bitmapped display's d77 1 d84 1 d88 1 d90 1 d92 1 @ 1.67.26.1 log @Sync with HEAD. @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.68 2007/06/06 08:21:08 martin Exp $ d9 1 a9 1 # NetBSD: GENERIC.in,v 1.66 2007/06/06 08:20:26 martin Exp $ d11 1 d13 1 d15 1 d17 1 d42 1 d48 1 d51 1 d54 1 d59 1 d62 1 d66 1 d69 1 d73 1 a73 1 grfbus0 at mainbus0 # bitmapped display's d77 1 d84 1 d88 1 d90 1 d92 1 @ 1.67.26.2 log @Sync with HEAD @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.69 2007/07/16 06:35:53 he Exp $ d9 1 a9 1 # NetBSD: GENERIC.in,v 1.67 2007/07/16 06:26:54 he Exp $ a37 1 options COMPAT_40 # NetBSD 4.0 compatibility. @ 1.67.18.1 log @Sync with head. @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.67 2006/03/28 22:03:47 pavel Exp $ d9 1 a9 1 # NetBSD: GENERIC.in,v 1.66 2007/06/06 08:20:26 martin Exp $ d11 1 d13 1 d15 1 d17 1 d42 1 d48 1 d51 1 d54 1 d59 1 d62 1 d66 1 d69 1 d73 1 a73 1 grfbus0 at mainbus0 # bitmapped display's d77 1 d84 1 d88 1 d90 1 d92 1 @ 1.67.18.2 log @Sync with HEAD. @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.67.18.1 2007/06/09 23:54:58 ad Exp $ d9 1 a9 1 # NetBSD: GENERIC.in,v 1.67 2007/07/16 06:26:54 he Exp $ a37 1 options COMPAT_40 # NetBSD 4.0 compatibility. @ 1.67.12.1 log @Regen for ticket 699. @ text @d9 1 a9 1 # NetBSD: GENERIC.in,v 1.65.2.1 2007/06/06 19:21:52 bouyer Exp $ d11 1 d13 1 d15 1 d17 1 d42 1 d48 1 d51 1 d54 1 d59 1 d62 1 d66 1 d69 1 d73 1 a73 1 grfbus0 at mainbus0 # bitmapped display's d77 1 d84 1 d88 1 d90 1 d92 1 @ 1.67.12.2 log @Regen for ticket 1227. @ text @d9 1 a9 1 # NetBSD: GENERIC.in,v 1.65.2.3 2008/11/18 18:43:32 snj Exp $ @ 1.67.12.3 log @Regen for ticket 1264: Increase min ST_POOL_SIZE from 22 to 24 to avoid out of ST memory issues. These changes implement machine-independent root device and file system selection. Notable features: - All ports behave in a consistent manner regarding root device selection. - No more "options GENERIC"; all kernels have the ability to boot with RB_ASKNAME to select root device and file system type. - Root file system type can be wildcarded; a machine-independent function will try all possible file systems for the selected root device until one succeeds. - If the root file system fails to mount, the operator will be given the chance to select a new root device and file system type, rather than having the machine simply panic. - nfs_mountroot() no longer panics if any part of the NFS mount process fails; it now returns an error, giving the operator a chance to recover. - New, more consistent, config(8) grammar. The constructs: config netbsd swap generic config netbsd root on nfs have been replaced with: config netbsd root on ? type ? config netbsd root on ? type nfs Additionally, the operator may select or wildcard root file system type in the kernel configuration file: config netbsd root on cd0a type cd9660 config(8) now requires that a "root" specification be made. "root" may be wired down or wildcarded. "swap" and "dump" specifications are optional, and follow previous semantics. - config(8) has a new "file-system" keyword, used to configure file systems into the kernel. Eventually, this will be used to generate the default vfssw[]. - "options NFSCLIENT" is obsolete, and is replaced by "file-system NFS". "options NFSSERVER" still exists, since NFS server support is independent of the NFS file system client. - sys/arch///swapgeneric.c is no longer used, and will be removed; all information is now generated by config(8). As of this commit, all ports except arm32 have been updated to use the new setroot(). Only SPARC, i386, and Alpha ports have been tested at this time. Port masters should test these changes on their ports, and report any problems back to me. More changes are on their way, including RB_ASKNAME support in nfs_mountroot() (to prompt for server address and path) and, potentially, the ability to select rarp/bootparam or bootp in nfs_mountroot(). @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.11 1997/01/04 23:32:08 leo Exp $ d41 7 a47 8 # File systems file-system FFS # Berkeley fast file system file-system MFS # Memory based filesystem file-system PROCFS # Process filesystem file-system KERNFS # Kernel parameter filesystem file-system NULLFS # Loopback filesystem file-system MSDOSFS # MSDOS filesystem file-system CD9660 # ISO 9660 filesystem with Rock Ridge a48 1 # File system options d88 1 a88 1 config netbsd root on ? type ? @ 1.10 log @rename: ramdisk => md @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.9 1996/12/16 21:24:19 leo Exp $ d105 1 a105 1 grf1 at grfbus0 # second graphics driver d107 1 a107 1 grf2 at grfbus0 # third graphics driver @ 1.9 log @Implement an rtc-device. Credits for the idea goes to Wolfgang Solfrank. Because there is no way yet to tell init(1) to execute commands before single user-mode is entered, the inittodr() function is still partly functional. It retrieves the value of the RTC and sets the time as if the RTC was running at UTC. The resettodr() function is a No-Op. The RTC can only be changed by a write to /dev/rtc. The TIMEZONE and DST options are no longer needed and removed from the config files. @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.8 1996/11/17 13:33:38 leo Exp $ d81 1 a81 1 options RAMDISK_HOOKS # Boot RAM-disk d97 1 a97 1 pseudo-device rd 1 # Boot ramdisk @ 1.8 log @Move SWAPPAGER, VNODEPAGER and DEVPAGER options to std.atari. @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.7 1996/11/08 14:12:27 leo Exp $ a22 2 options TIMEZONE=0 # Set the timezone that the kernel will use options DST=1 # Set the timezone that the kernel will use @ 1.7 log @Move the definition for the floppy device from std.atari to the different config files because the Hades needs another driver for it. @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.6 1996/10/16 12:50:31 leo Exp $ a51 5 options SWAPPAGER # Pager for swap device options VNODEPAGER # Pager for vnodes options DEVPAGER # Pager @ 1.6 log @Update pathnames of included files for new version of config. @ text @d2 1 a2 1 # $NetBSD: BOOTX,v 1.5 1996/10/04 07:08:29 leo Exp $ d109 2 @ 1.5 log @Add the COMPAT_12 options.
